1. Auto-fill from an existing GSTIN
Choose auto-population
In Part-B of FORM GST REG-01, select "Yes – Auto-Populate Details". Get consent by OTP
The Primary Authorised Signatory (PAS) of the existing GSTIN gives consent through an OTP. Review and edit
Eligible details are filled in automatically. Review them, change anything that differs for the new registration, then save and continue. Promoters are informed
Relevant promoters/partners receive an SMS and e-mail after successful verification.
2. Jurisdiction suggested from your location
3. Help inside the form
Tips before you apply
Keep the Primary Authorised Signatory of the existing GSTIN available, because the OTP goes to them. Review every auto-filled field: the business activity, goods and services, bank details and signatories may differ for the new location. Enter the full address of the new principal place of business accurately so the suggested jurisdiction is correct. Upload clear proof of the new place of business, such as a rent agreement with electricity bill, or an ownership document.
What has not changed
Each registration is still for one State/UT and gives a separate GSTIN. You still need proof of place of business and Aadhaar authentication for the new application. The jurisdiction suggestion is only a recommendation: check it before submitting.
