Calculator FAQs
Yes. They use the slabs, rebate, standard deduction and surcharge that apply from 1 April 2026. Budget 2026 did not change personal tax slabs, so the new-regime slabs introduced in Budget 2025 continue, with income up to ₹12 lakh (₹12.75 lakh for salaried taxpayers) effectively tax-free.
Yes. The main rates are 5% and 18%, with 40% for luxury and sin goods, as notified from 22 September 2025. Special rates of 3% and 0.25% are also available.
