Review and approval before every return is filed.
GST Filing Workflow
From multiple GSTINs to filing, all in one place.
Every GSTIN files its own returns, and each return has to agree with the others.
GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B are filed every month, or every quarter under QRMP, for each GSTIN. Delays attract late fees, and tax paid late attracts interest.
Tax declared on sales in GSTR-1 should match the tax paid through GSTR-3B. Short payment draws interest and, sooner or later, a notice.
Input tax credit claimed in GSTR-3B should not run ahead of the credit available in GSTR-2B. Excess claims lead to queries and notices.
A business registered in several states files a separate set of returns for each GSTIN, so the monthly workload grows with every new registration.
| Return | What it covers | How often |
|---|---|---|
| GSTR-1 / GSTR-1A | Outward supplies (sales), and amendments to them | Monthly, or quarterly under QRMP |
| GSTR-3B | Summary return with tax liability, ITC claimed and tax paid | Monthly, or quarterly under QRMP |
| GSTR-6 | Return of an Input Service Distributor (ISD) | Monthly |
| GSTR-7 | Return for TDS deducted under GST | Monthly |
| ITC-04 | Goods sent to and received from job workers | Half-yearly or annually, based on turnover |
| GSTR-9 / GSTR-9C | Annual return and reconciliation statement | Annually |
GSTR-2A and GSTR-2B are statements generated by the GST portal, not returns you file. GSTCPC fetches them to reconcile input tax credit before GSTR-3B.
Decide who can prepare, review, approve and file each return. A typical set-up looks like this.
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Preparer | Fetches portal data, prepares the return and clears reconciliation differences |
| Reviewer | Checks the return against the reconciliation and ITC mismatch reports |
| Approver | Approves the return for filing |
| Filer | Files the approved return on the GST portal through Figment’s GSP |
Roles are set by your organisation. One person can hold more than one role in a smaller team.

Ask us directly.GSTCPC prepares and files GSTR-1, GSTR-1A, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6, GSTR-7, ITC-04, GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C for every GSTIN of an organisation. It also fetches GSTR-2A, GSTR-2B and IMS data so input tax credit can be reconciled before GSTR-3B is filed.
GSTR-1A is an optional return that lets a taxpayer amend or add details missed in GSTR-1 for a tax period. It is filed after GSTR-1 for that period and before GSTR-3B, so the corrected liability flows into GSTR-3B for the same period.
GSTR-6 is the monthly return of an Input Service Distributor (ISD), which distributes input tax credit to its units. GSTR-7 is the monthly return filed by those required to deduct TDS under GST, such as government departments and notified bodies. GSTCPC files both alongside the regular returns.
ITC-04 is filed by a manufacturer that sends goods to job workers, reporting the goods sent and received back. It is filed half-yearly by taxpayers with annual aggregate turnover above ₹5 crore and annually by others.
Yes. In GSTCPC each return can be routed for review and approval before filing, and role-based access decides which users can prepare, review, approve and file. Smaller teams can give one person more than one role.
GSTCPC connects to the GST portal through Figment’s GSTN-authorised GSP. Portal data is fetched for all GSTINs together, and returns are filed through the same connection.
